How much time do you spend thinking about yourself?

What if I told you the answer to your problems lies somewhere within you?
You just have to find a way to uncover it.

Think of it as a puzzle. You can only see the final image, if the pieces are placed in their proper spot.
We all have a unique combination of characteristics and attributes, which make us who we are. Understanding what they are and how we can use them in our favour is an important skill.
This is called self-knowledge.
The skill that allows us to discover our unique essence.
And it's developed by spending time reflecting about our emotions, behaviours and thoughts, evaluating them. Understanding the way they connect and interfere with the world around us. Considering what leads us to a decision and what motivates us to move forward.
The answer to our problems tends to lie somewhere within us. This could be making a different choice, a switch in behaviour, a change in perspective. It could be about setting a new goal, developing a new skill or finding a new inspiration.
However, perspective matters.
Just like a puzzle, if we only have some of the pieces or if we are trying to fit a piece in the wrong space, it can be difficult to understand where the final picture might lead us.
If we are too close to the problem, it can be difficult to have a realistic idea of the capacities we have to face it or the changes we should make.
This is where psychology comes in. To help us uncover new pieces of the puzzle and see our own picture clearly.
But independently if you are ready to start a therapeutic process or not, self-reflection and self-knowledge is the skill to develop to uncover the next steps you need to take to move forward.
